Tower Hill Water tank gets a makeover

The Tower Hill Water Tank got a facelift!
Water tank painting is a crucial step in extending the life of a water tank, preventing corrosion, and maintaining water quality. The tank on "tower hill" (behind Chick-fil-A) was cleaned and painting, inside and out, as part of a regular maintenance schedule of the City of Danville Municipal Utilities' tanks. This particular tank will hold approximately 3 million gallons of water. In the City of Danville's water distribution system, water is pumped directly from the water treatment plant to residences and businesses. Any unused water will pass through to these storage tanks, like the one on tower hill. When pumps require maintenance, or when all the needs in the water system have been met, the reserves in the tank supply water to the surrounding area and the elevation of the tank allows for adequate pressure for the end users.
The Tower Hill tank has now been thoroughly inspected and will be sanitized, filled and undergo water quality testing before it will be returned to service in the next few weeks.
