City of Danville Named Finalist for Prestigious 2025 Wooden Bucket Award
The City of Danville has been selected as a finalist for the 2025 Wooden Bucket Award, a recognition presented annually to one outstanding water or wastewater utility in Kentucky by the Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA).
Since its inception in 1990, the Wooden Bucket Award has honored utilities that demonstrate exceptional community service, operational excellence, and consistent compliance with regulatory standards. Out of numerous nominations from across the state, the City of Danville is one of only ten to be considered for the Award.
The City of Danville, and other finalists, will be celebrated during the Kentucky Rural Water Association’s Annual Conference & Exhibition in August. Each finalist will receive an Award of Excellence from USDA-Rural Development, a key supporter of water infrastructure development in Kentucky, before the 2025 Wooden Bucket Award will be presented.
“We are incredibly honored to be among the finalists for the Wooden Bucket Award,” said Utility Director, Marshall Carrier, “This recognition reflects our team's dedication to serving Danville, and our region, and our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in water service.”
The City of Danville proudly recognizes the dedicated professionals of the Municipal Utilities Department whose outstanding commitment and service have positioned the City to receive the Award of Excellence and may very well earn them the prestigious 2025 Wooden Bucket Award.
