Project Description:
Based on crash data across the City of Danville, the Engineering department is taking a focus on reducing speeds and raising driver awareness in the City. Traffic calming improvements may include small projects like installing speed humps or improved signage, as well as more complex street designs, changing traffic patterns to slow cars and bring special attention to areas of concern.

Current improvements:
- Improvements on Skywatch Drive near Starbucks - A complex and congested intersection has been reconfigured to remove left turns, which historically pose greater risk for collisions
- Downtown Danville Streetscape Project - Minimally reducing lane width encourages drivers to slow and pay attention to the vehicles and pedestrians around them
- Speed hump added to Jackson Street near Danville High School
- Speed bumps in front of Tractor Supply

- West Walnut improvements, Centre Campus
- Addressing speed on North Fifth Street
- Evaluate speed related concerns on Seminole Trail
