Indoor Recreation & Aquatics
Project Description:
In recent years, The City of Danville and Boyle County Fiscal Court have entered discussions regarding a potential aquatic center and recreational facility in the City of Danville. A public input survey, and the deterioration of Bunny Davis pool, has brought the concept of an Aquatic Center and Recreational Facility to the forefront of conversations that address needs in the Danville-Boyle County Parks & Recreation department and in the community. Potential designs and locations have been discussed regularly between the City of Danville's Board of Commissioners and the Boyle County Fiscal Court.
The City of Danville recognizes a need for such a facility in our community. Danville-Boyle County Parks & Recreation is now in the research phase of this potential project, gathering information about the operations, associated costs and potential revenue sources while actively seeking partnerships and funding opportunities. Funding sources and partnerships will be the primary driver in moving this project along. Public input will also play a major role in the future of this project. The estimated $22,000,000 needed for the project has come from a variety of proposed designs, locations and potential activities. There are no concrete plans available for review at this time. Please contact Danville-Boyle County Parks & Recreation for more information.
Indoor Recreation and Aquatics were discussed during an October 2025 joint meeting of the City of Danville Board of Commissioners and the Boyle County Fiscal Court. Watch the meeting here: https://www.youtube.com/live/PRWAdLwwpds?si=isdsVZZfcmd9pnp6
