The City of Danville is proud to announce Chief Mike McCurdy as the new Chief of the City of Danville Fire Department.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, Chief McCurdy served on active duty from 1994–1998 and in the Marine Corps Reserve until 2000, completing two deployments. His military experience helped shape the mission-focused leadership he brings to his new role. 

Since joining the Danville Fire Department in 2005, Chief McCurdy has advanced through the ranks as firefighter, lieutenant, Battalion Chief, and, most recently, Interim Chief following Doug Simpson’s retirement earlier this year.

Chief McCurdy is dedicated to continuing the City of Danville Fire Department's legacy of strong leadership, developing his team and ensuring professionalism and proficiency within the department.
