Due to the extreme cold, the City of Danville Municipal Utilities Department is providing a temporary extension for customers with delinquent accounts by postponing water service cut-offs until weather conditions improve. In the meantime, customers with delinquent accounts are encouraged to take prompt action to avoid service interruption when cut-offs resume.
To avoid processing delays of electronic payment methods, customers are encouraged to deliver payments to City Hall at 445 W Main Street in Danville, when safe travel is an option. Payments can also be made by phone at 866-771-1193, or additional payment methods may be found at www.danvilleky.org/payutilities.
Payments are due on the 10th each month. Accounts not paid by this date are considered delinquent and may be subject to disconnection.
Customers who need assistance with their account may call the Utility Office at 859-238-1200 to discuss available resources or payment plans, where eligible.
As we continue to face colder than normal temperatures, we will continue to monitor water usage and system pressure. Please report discoloration or loss of water pressure to 859-238-1241 and take these steps to protect your pipes:
- Insulate exposed pipes in basements, crawl spaces, garages, and exterior walls
- Allow faucets to drip slightly during extreme cold
- Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
- Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses
