The City Commission met on 9/28 to consider preliminary strategies and concepts related to the Downtown Master Plan Project. This project is interesting for several reasons and the community can expect several outcomes. While it is called a “plan” for downtown growth it is more accurately described as a “strategy” for downtown economic sustainability, growth, and planning. The ideas take into account downtown economic activity, transportation (pedestrian safety), and most importantly improving downtown livability. We believe the final concepts and strategies established will provide a clear action plan for the City Commission to fulfil its goals for improving the quality of life in Danville while enhancing economic vitality. The presentation was provided during the workshop.
