The City of Danville Water Department will issue Boil Water Advisories for various reasons. If a Boil Water Advisory has been issued, the city will notify the affected residents using door hangers, notifications via social media, and also on this website. When a Boil Water Advisory has been issued, the affected area will be noted on the top of this page, and at the top of all pages of this site, including the homepage.
During a Boil Water Advisory that affects your area, it is important to know that although no contamination has been confirmed we recommend: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one to two minutes, let it cool before using or use bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for
- drinking
- making ice
- brushing teeth
- washing dishes
- food preparation
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
